    Fact for the day: Cord was the first American car maker to produce front wheel drive cars in sizeable numbers.


  2. It is a Cord Westchester saloon, and you are correct about the front wheel drive! too bad they had a lot of transmission problems…

    Beautiful design and yes, Cord was the first car in the world to use fwd. However the first mass-produced fwd car in the world was the Citroen Traction Avant. In the period between the World Wars, Citroen was also the fourth largest car manufacturer in the world, being surpassed only by the Big Three!
